Regional Coordination Unit
The RCU has the following mandate and functions:
The Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) is responsible for technical assistance, coordination, administration, reporting, and monitoring of the EEP Mekong at regional level. The RCU manages and administers project selection, information services and capacity development for the overall programme. The RCU provides technical support to the national units which are the primary sources of guidance and facilitation to project developers and actors in the RE field. It is also responsible in developing the overall Management Information System (MIS) including core mechanisms for dialogue, information systematisation and dissemination as well as comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system covering the programme and proposed projects that are executed in the participating countries. The information dissemination and dialogue mainly take place through the EEP Web portal and periodic regional forums that the RCU is responsible in organising.
The RCU closely cooperates with AIT in activities and functions outsourced from it and with the National Coordination Units building partnerships with different counterparts and donors on regional level. The office of the RCU is hosted by AIT in Thailand, to enhance the collaboration with AIT units and staff.

The RCU consists of long-term technical assistance staff and local administrative person:
- Chief Technical Advisor (CTA)
- Financial Advisor (FA)
- Administrative Officer/Accountant
The RCU reports to the SC through the CTA.
