EEP Mekong Phase II

Funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, EEP Mekong has started its second four-year phase in November 2014 and will be running until 2018. Based on lessons learnt so far, the new phase of the programme aims to increase its impact and effectiveness by narrowing its focus on increasing and improving access of rural population to sustainable and affordable energy services and products in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The Result-Based Financing Scheme and Human Right-Based Approach are strategically integrated into the Programme and Projects implementation. EEP Mekong Regional Coordination Unit is based in Vientiane, Lao PDR. Learn more about EEP organisation structure.


  • Invitation to Call for Proposals Workshops in Vietnam, Lao PDR and Myanmar

          Since 2009, EEP Mekong supports 46 projects, which 39 projects are completed and seven projects have just started last month. Recently, EEP Mekong has launched the 6th Call for Proposals (CfP6) and welcomes applications from all Mekong partner countries.   • The SC endorse seven projects for funding

      Main issue of the Steering Committee Meeting held on 4th February 2016, in Bangkok, was review and endorsement of the evaluation results of the received Concept Notes and the full Project proposals resulting from the Call for Proposal (CfP) launched in July 2015. The Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) presented the evaluation results of the Concept Notes and Full Project Proposals. A total of 71 Concept Notes have been received from project developers in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam with the following country and technology wise distribution.
